Book of Adventure is a Phantom Book exclusive to the spin-off Dalian-chan's Bookshelf. Hugh activated it by accident in Chapter 11.

It’s a simple book with the title on its light-colored cover.[1]

Background[]

At the Disward estate, Hugh was sleeping on the sofa when he activated the Phantom Book by accident.[1]

Powers[]

The reader and the people around him are send to a RPG world. The mechanics of a RPG game are valid in this world. For instance, players can interact with non-player characters, buy and find equipment, level up by training and collect currency by breaking pots and examining chests. The people affected can also have their appearance changed, such as Dalian who turned into a fairy. People can only leave the RPG world if they defeat the Devil, located at his own castle. Phantom Books can’t be summoned in this universe. People who leave the RPG world can forget about the adventure, as if they had a strange dream.[1][2]

Plot[]

Hugh sleeping

Hugh activates the Book of Adventure while sleeping.

Hugh notices that Dalian turned into a fairy. Dalian reveals that he’s not dreaming. She explains that Hugh accidentally used the power of a Phantom Book while sleeping. Hugh had activated the Book of Adventure, so now they are trapped inside a RPG world. They must defeat the Devil to return home. Dalian reveals that they can’t summon Phantom Books in that world. At the nearest town, they see Hal dragging Flamberge. The latter explains that she was sleeping close to Hugh, in secret, so she was also trapped inside that world. She believes that she can defeat the Devil before Hugh and Dalian.

Hugh costume

Hugh tries a new equipment.

Hugh and Dalian visit an equipment store. Hugh looks like a clown with the costume he chose. He removes the costume, mad with Flamberge’s laughter. He asks if Flamberge and Hal bought something. It’s revealed that they bought a coffin, so that Hal can drag Flamberge around without any pain. Flamberge explains that Hugh and Dalian are unable to buy equipment without money. Hal and Flamberge were able to get money by looking into people’s chests and pots. Dalian is furious with Flamberge’s absurd talk, so she urges Hugh to find the Devil. The couple is decided to find the enemy first. [1]

Hugh and Dalian overcome many difficulties. They reached the Devil’s castle, a little house which looks more like a mushroom. It’s revealed that the Devil is in fact Rasiel. The latter affirms that her aide is enough to deal with Hugh and Dalian. She calls her aide, who is revealed to be the Professor. Dalian tells Hugh to defeat him. However, the Professor is a level 99 character, and he will be using his concoctions to battle. Hugh, a level 1 character, is not confident. Dalian reveals that she picked up weapons and shields on the way to the castle. Hugh is discouraged after seeing the low-level equipment Dalian gathered.

The Professor is ready to defeat Hugh. Suddenly, the Professor is hit by a coffin. Flamberge and Hal are late, since they were leveling up. Now they are almost level 1000 characters. Hal even has a high-level sword. The couple beats the Professor. Dalian beats Rasiel in a game of rock paper scissors. Hugh and Dalian return to their world. Hugh wakes up. He affirms that he had a strange dream, but that he doesn’t remember anything.[2]

Level 999

Flamberge and Hal show up.
