The title is written on the black leather cover of the book.[1]

Background[]

Hugh had the Phantom Book in his pocket during the events of Phantom Book of the King. It’s probably part of the collection inside the Labyrinth Library.[1]

Powers[]

The Phantom Book allows the user and his comrades to move through spacetime. A door is opened when the user reads a couple of lines. The door contorts the space. It allows people to safely move several kilometers in an instant. However, if the user tries to go too far, he may lose his sanity.[1]

Plot[]

Hugh, Dalian, Hal and Flamberge run away from the eruption, returning to the ship. There, Hal threatens to burn Dalian, so Hugh prepares to leave. The latter removes a Phantom Book from his pocket. Hal reads the title. The Book Burning Officer chuckles and raises his staff. He won’t let Hugh read the Book of the Descendant of the Mist and move through spacetime. Hugh talks about the Phantom Book Cemetery to distract Hal. Hugh opens the Phantom Book and reads a couple of lines. The space behind Hugh and Dalian is distorted. Hal urges Hugh not to use the Phantom Book. After all, the Book of the Descendant of the Mist only carries the user for a few kilometers. If Hugh tries to go further, he may lose his sanity. Moreover, there is nowhere to go, since they are in the middle of a desert. However, Hugh had planned everything. He looks up into the sky. There’s an airplane flying above them. Hugh and Dalian disappear.[1]
