The Mystic Archives of Dantalian Dalian Days (ダンタリアンの書架 ダリアンDays Dantalian no Shoka Dalian Days) or Bibliotheca Mystica de Dantalian Dalian Days is a manga authored by Monaco Sena. It’s a spin-off of the The Mystic Archives of Dantalian series written by Gakuto Mikumo and illustrated by G-Yuusuke. Dalian Days has 2 volumes and 17 chapters.
It was serialized by Kadokawa Shoten from March 2010 to October 2011 in the Comp Ace (コンプ エース Konpu Ēsu), a Japanese computer game and manga magazine. The complete volumes were released by the same company between November 2010 and November 2011.[1][2][3]
Summary[]
Hugh and Dalian go to the Road Windal Academy. There, Dalian meets one of the best students, Priscilla, whose hobby is to write novels. Not even Cecil and Margaret, Priscilla’s classmates and friends, know about her passion. As a book lover, Dalian becomes immediately interested in Priscilla’s writings. In turn, Priscilla becomes fascinated by the Biblioprincess’ doll-like appearance and mysterious behavior.[4]
Overview[]
Dalian Days is a slice of life. Unlike the rest of the series, the spin-off focuses less in mysteries involving Phantom Books and more in aspects of school life. Dalian is portrayed as a schoolgirl who, despite her rude manners, befriends her classmates Priscilla, Cecil and Margaret. The manga has short chapters showing the interaction between the girls in trivial but comical situations. The author uses a cute art style to draw the characters as a way to captivate the readers. For the same reason, Priscilla’s attractive body is also sometimes emphasized as an ecchi element. Character development is barely approached.
The spin-off has a few references to characters and stories from the light novel. Hugh appears as a student teacher, although he’s not so prominent in this manga as the schoolgirls. In Dalian Days, Hugh and Dalian frequent the Road Windal Academy (ロードウィンダル学園 Rōdo Windaru Gakuen), an all-girls boarding school founded 200 years ago on a peaceful island. To attend the school, the couple moved to the Ombolo Mansion (オンボロ屋敷 Onboro Yashiki), located in St. Regal (St.リーガル Rīgaru) and built in the forest along the coastline. The setting is the English world, although it’s heavily influenced by Japanese culture. Illustrations, sketches and omakes are included between the chapters.

The Sneaker page[]
Volume 2 shows a page of Dalian Days published in the August 2010 issue of The Sneaker, the same magazine where the light novel was published. It shows Priscilla, Cecil, Margaret and Dalian going to the school’s cafeteria for lunch. In the middle of the crowd, Cecil squeezes Priscilla’s breasts. Priscilla asks the baker if there’s any bread crusts left. The popular breads were sold out, but Priscilla buys some fried breads for Dalian. The Biblioprincess seems satisfied.[5]
